Mangan Press/Authors
Authors
Three writers, five booksWe publish few people and we publish them repeatedly. Where a writer wants to stay, we would like them to be able to.
How we work with writers
We offer an advance, a royalty, and a contract you can read without a solicitor, though we would rather you used one. Rights revert automatically if a book has been out of print for eighteen months. We do not ask for options on unwritten books.
Editing is slow and done on paper. You will get a marked-up proof, a long letter, and a phone call, in that order, and then we will do it again. Nobody has ever accused us of being quick.
We also publish debuts, four of the last twelve, and we read every unagented submission ourselves during the reading period.
Submissions open in January and July. Read the guidelines first — they are short and we do mean them.
